Release 1.1.7 25th June 2007.
The MP3 encoder (lame_enc.dll) now consumes less CPU time. The fault was in the configuration settings. This means the encoder (lame_enc.dll) does not need updating.
Additionally the ABR mode now works correctly.
Release 1.1.6 9th May 2007.
Fixed the 'Notes' feature to accept multiple lines of text in the client. The server is unchanged and is still at version 1.1.5.
Release 1.1.5 18th November 2006.
Bug in ASIO section of code fixed. The server application should now not crash or misbehave with ASIO drivers that do not accept multiple applications.
Release 1.1.4 28th September 2006.
Fixed the problem with CPU load going very high when there is no input on some sound cards.
Release 1.1.3 18th September 2006.
Fixes a really awful bug in the client programs streaming setup. As a general comment the AAC encoder will only support 128kB/s operation.(Sonos III will fix this and support good quality 64kB/s operation).
Release 1.1.2 25th July 2006.
Some people may have been experiencing a rise in CPU load when no audio is passing through the processor. This might have been fixed with this release.
Release 1.1.1 1st July 2006.
There are two changes in this release.
The first is a fix for an intermittant problem in the stereo MPX coder of remembering settings. The fix has not been proved but it seems likely that it will.
The second change is in the filtering of the high frequency pre-emphasis.The filtering added for v1.1.0 has been removed. The pre-emphasis is now functionally the same as v1.0.0.
Release 1.1.0 26th April 2006.
This is a major series of changes.
That means previous format and settings files no longer work.
The server now minimizes to the system tray.
The AGC now ramps in linear dBs per time period.
Compressor can now be bypassed.
The compressor is now simplified in that there is no longer sophisticated ripple reduction on the control sidechain.(It is a simple stupid compressor in other words). The supplied format files bypass the compressor since the limiter is in effect a compressor as well.
The speech/music switching is now a gradual affair. This affects the linking of the bands and the change in time constants in the limiter.
The linking in speech mode is now set to 0dB in the lower bands and is no longer adjustable.
The time constants are now set to 1 step faster on attack and 1 step slower on release when in speech mode.
Overall it has simplified the controls and has made the transition between speech and music imperceptible.
Reduced distortion in the high frequency clipper.
Switchable de-emphasis has been added to the streaming output. This allows the processor to be used for FM (with pre-emphasis) and correct the sound balance for the stream feed.
The stereo coder has undergone changes.
Under 'MPX Setup' there are controls for adjusing the separation (Sub Amp & Sub Phase).
It is now possible to use the left output for the stereo multiplex and the right to output just the 19kHz pilot.
The stereo coder now has a clipper.
The tone generator has more options. This will simplify setting the stereo separation.
Finally some changes to the client.
The meter settings are now remembered.
Under the controls window the controls that are 'Settings' are now labelled fully.(Bug fix).
